What is Common(s) Wellness?

The initial intention behind the Wellness Space was to create an oasis- a space for individuals to come and experience deep healing on a mind, body, soul and spirit level. It has become loudly evident that people are suffering in many ways, whether it be physically, mentally, relationally, spiritually, or any other state of being, and our goal is to create a beautiful and tranquil environment that can be the healing ground people need. Although we are not operating with the intent to treat any specific conditions or imbalances that may surface for each person, our desire nonetheless is to show up with the intent to stir up and spark healing first on a spiritual level- to get to the root of the pain.

The root word for “heal” is “whole”, and so from there birthed the purpose of restoring wholeness in the only way it can be restored- from the inside out. This is to be a safe and sacred space for each person who walks in to experience the rest their soul need. Since each of us is unique and we do not all heal the same way, there will be different modalities offered to meet the varying needs of each person’s healing journey. Each modality has a different function and purpose behind it, orchestrating optimal well-being in a gentle yet exponential way.

Regardless of how many times a person comes to the Wellness Space, our hope is that each person is empowered and equipped with new and sharpened tools to establish their own healing space and practices at home. Our goal is not for people to become dependent on the space for healing, but to come find restoration in one season, to then be able to translate that in their everyday lives and circumstances in other seasons.

Why a space like Common(s) Wellness?

The rise of mental health issues impacting our world demands that we lean in to provide spaces where people in our community can gather for healing of mind, body and soul.

We envision a wellness space nestled within our church, radiating with God's love and serving as a sanctuary for our community members. This sacred haven will provide unwavering support for individuals seeking holistic well-being, nurturing them mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

In this space, guided by our faith, compassionate church members will offer diverse modalities such as hydrotherapy, talk therapy, art therapy, and physical training and yoga. Each modality will be infused with a deep sense of spirituality, providing a transformative experience rooted in God's presence. With prayer, meditation, and reflection woven throughout, this wellness space will empower individuals to discover their true potential, find healing, and embrace a balanced and vibrant life.
